Creating Healthy Habits

One at a time!

The nights are getting dark earlier and the mornings getting light later. You can definitely feel a change in the temperature as Autumn starts to make its appearance. It’s nothing new to us and we adapt accordingly every change of season.

So what about adapting to our bodies needs? Do you listen to your body? When you experience symptoms such as dry skin, poor energy, constipation, fatigue, low moods etc. your body is communicating with you that something is not right. When you become aware of your bodies signals, and you investigate further, you will learn to feed your body what it really needs and limit or avoid whatever causes the symptoms.

SYMPTOMS ARE NOT ENEMIES TO BE DESTROYED, BUT SACRED MESSENGERS WHO ENCOURAGE US TO TAKE CARE OF OURSELVES

One of the keys to successfully creating healthier habits is practicing to eat mindfully. If you already do this, well done! If not, it’s definitely something to start doing.

How fast do you eat? Do you stop eating when you’re full? Do you multi-task when you eat? Practice eating slowly and experience the pleasure of eating. Recognise hunger signals or cues that you are feeling full. Be in the moment when you eat, without any distractions.

Reading food labels is a great way to help you make better food choices. Educate yourself and know exactly what you are putting into your body.

Do you make time for YOURSELF?
It’s an important part of a creating a healthier lifestyle.
Most of us have very busy lives but you need to create some “me time” in your schedule. And alongside “me time”, happiness is also an important aspect.

A healthy balance is key. I believe in the 80/20 rule. 80% of the time you stick to a healthy lifestyle and 20% of the time you allow yourself to be indulge in the less healthy options. We are human after all!

IT’S NOT ABOUT WHAT YOU EAT SOME OF THE TIME, IT’S ABOUT WHAT YOU EAT MOST OF THE TIME THAT MATTERS. FIMD YOUR HEALTHY BALANCE

A Healthy lifestyle not only changes your body, it changes your mind, attitude and mood. It’s easier than you think…if you start creating healthy habits – one at a time.
