When last did you step back, put on the breaks, regroup and reflect? At the beginning of the year, we often set ourselves goals and might even have a clear vision of how we anticipate the year ahead, in our personal life, work life, lifestyle, finances etc. There are so many demands in our life as parents, professionals, and spouses, and this often results in putting ourselves on the back burner. I am a professional, a mother, a wife, a friend, a daughter, a sister… Without a doubt, I am guilty of putting a lot of pressure on myself to be successful in all those areas. I am also a control freak and one of the hardest things for me to do, is to let go of being in control. The latter was recently put to the test when I was invited by a close friend to join her for a few days away for some time out from our life roles and routine. I was hesitant of allowing myself the indulgence but decided to go. It really did me the world of good. I learned a little more about myself, a lot about my friend, had some healthy laughter, new scenery, fresh air and most importantly regrouped. Making the time to get a fresh perspective on your life from time to time is definitely necessary. It should definitely be up there on your healthy habit “to do” list.
What do you need to “fix” or put into practice for a healthier lifestyle? Being healthy is not only about the food you eat. The habits you make, break and practice are just as important. Take that leap… What have you got to lose?
Warm regards Fiona
