“She believed she could, so she did…”

How do you define yourself? It’s not an easy question to answer. And how would you describe yourself? Too often we are self-critical and end up being unkind in our answer.

As a women in my late 40’s, I have found some positives in my maturing years. It’s a journey of self-discovery. Some say that life begins at 40 and I’m inclined to agree. Of course, this is not everyone’s outlook and may depend on your journey so far.

As we get older it seems harder to try new or different things. We tend to be stuck in our ways and somewhat accepting of where we are in life. Maybe we even feel that we have been this way so long, why change or grow.

Personally, I’ve grown in many aspects in the last decade.  Coming out of my comfort zones (in certain areas of my life) has been one of the big ones. As a natural introvert, I’ve gradually overcame my shyness and I’m constantly growing in self-confidence. I’m learning to be less self-critical and to tackle what I’m not comfortable with.

We doubt ourselves and underestimate ourselves. But through support, encouragement and believing in ourselves, it is possible to achieve things we thought we were incapable of doing. You are allowed to say No, but also learn to try something out of your comfort zone from time to time.

Are you stuck in a comfort zone? Maybe it’s work related, relationships, skills, body image… We need to ask ourselves “what if I believe in myself?” and give yourself the benefit of doubt and just DO whatever it is outside of our comfort zone. There’s always room for growth and new found happiness.

Don’t just feel okay about yourself, feel GREAT about yourself 😀
