“Nothing causes more damage to our bodies than long physical inactivity”

What do you think of when you hear the words “physical activity”? Perhaps it conjures up memories of torturous physical education class at school. Maybe it’s working up a sweat. Or a daily walk.

Physical activity is an important part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. More importantly, you need to do something you enjoy. If you don’t enjoy the activity you do, you’re not likely to stick with it.

Are you a procrastinator when it comes to exercise? Typical barriers to exercise include no time, unhealthy /injury, lack of confidence / poor self image, unfit, budget.

An essential part of our wellbeing is the ability to manage our time. We need to remember the big picture and balance our lives. Proactive people always seem in control and have time for the important things in their lives. Reactive people get caught up in endless (seemingly important) urgent activities. We need to find clarity on what is important in our lives.

Commit to a form of exercise. Schedule yourself in as you would any appointment; Choose the right venue and people; Work at your own speed and based on your current capabilities; There are exercise options to suit all budgets and capabilities. PLUS activities like walking, jogging, running and cycling are FREE!

And the cherry on top – the wonderful benefits:

  • Weight Control (burns fat fast)
  • Reduced risk of cardiovascular disease
  • Reduced risk of osteoporosis
  • Improves lung function
  • Improves body shape, tones muscles
  • Reduces stress and depression (endorphins released)
  • Better energy
  • Enjoyment
  • Builds self-esteem
  • Socialising

Let’s get physical…
